The restaurant La Tegala will be called La Tegala de Germán Blanco from this June. Germán, who was in charge of the Amura restaurant in Puerto Calero for 12 years, begins a new journey, where he will display his creativity and experience through tasting menus (38 euros per person or 50 euros in the case of the menu paired with 4 selected wines) and à la carte menus.
The tasting menu consists of eight dishes, including homemade duck Foi gras, roasted peach pomade with Pedro ximenez and crispy toasts, fresh fish of the day, white asparagus, potato and morel cream with a touch of sea urchin and cured goat cheese coulant on beetroot soil.
Both menus (Tasting and A la carte) are made according to the market. Germán confesses his passion for seasonal cuisine and the use of organic products in the preparation of his dishes. The wines chosen to accompany his creations will be young wines, oak and aged wines. Mostly from the national territory and updated vintages with representations of signature wines.
During the last 13 years, his career has been between Lanzarote and Tenerife, where he has been awarded on several occasions in high-level gastronomic events. Germán believes that continuous training is essential to satisfy the expectations of an increasingly demanding clientele and that is why, whenever he can, he participates in stages (training periods offered by some of the best restaurants in the world) to update his knowledge and introduce new techniques. The most recent one he attended was taught by Mario Sandoval (1 Michelin star) in his Coque restaurant in Madrid.
La Tegala de Germán Blanco can accommodate up to 50 people and has two private rooms with capacity for twelve diners each. It also has a private tasting room with capacity for 18 people. The kitchen hours will be from Monday to Saturday from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. The reservation telephone number is 928 524 524.
