SPAR Lanzarote has successfully concluded the 6th edition of its "Product Solidarity" campaign, a social initiative aimed at channeling part of the sales of selected products towards charitable causes. At the event held yesterday, the company presented a total of €13,000 to three island associations: Calor y Café, AECC Lanzarote (Spanish Association Against Cancer), and Fundación Flora Acoge, thus consolidating its commitment to the Lanzarote community.
The campaign, which takes place every year in all EUROSPAR and SPAR supermarkets in Arrecife, has mobilized customers, suppliers, and employees around a common goal: to support organizations that work directly with vulnerable groups. With each purchase of products identified with the solidarity seal, a portion of the amount is fully allocated to organizations on the island, providing resources that strengthen their programs and services.
Since its launch in 2020, this initiative has been growing in impact and social repercussion. In its first edition, €4,848 were raised for Calor y Café and Banco de Alimentos. In 2021, the campaign focused on those affected by the La Palma volcano, and in 2022 and 2023, it expanded its support to associations such as Cáritas and the Spanish Association Against Cancer, among others. In 2024, €12,495 were allocated to Calor y Café, Flora Acoge, and AECC Lanzarote, demonstrating a growing trend in community participation and customer commitment.
The handover ceremony was attended by Rubén González, representing SPAR Lanzarote, as well as the beneficiary organizations: Lola Lasso from AECC Lanzarote; Sister Ana representing Calor y Café, and Montserrat González from Flora Acoge. All of them agreed in highlighting and thanking the importance of this financial contribution, which will allow them to continue developing their essential social work on the island. This event reinforces SPAR Lanzarote's role as an ally of social initiatives, reflecting its commitment to generating a positive impact beyond its commercial activities.
With this initiative, SPAR Lanzarote reaffirms its philosophy of "Always close to you," promoting projects that improve the quality of life for people in Lanzarote and strengthening ties with its community.
