More than 360 bikers from 19 different nationalities are already registered and ready to enjoy the 4 Stage MTB Race Lanzarote, the only UCI XC race in the Canary Islands will be held from January 28 to 31 and there are still places available. Former professional triathlete Iván Raña and Karl Markt, current champion of the 4 Stage, will be two of the most prominent names this year

With two weeks to go before the start of the Club La Santa 4 Stage MTB Race Lanzarote, everything is ready on the island. Bikers from 19 different countries will arrive in Lanzarote to discover the most remote parts of the island on their mountain bikes. With 90% of the route off road, more than 22,000 euros in prizes between the four stages and being the only XC event on the International Cycling Union (UCI) circuit that takes place in the Canary Islands, the Club La Santa 4 Stage will once again be a great challenge for all its participants.

To date, there are more than 360 registered for this edition of the Club La Santa 4 Stage MTB Race Lanzarote. Of all the nationalities that will be present, Spanish, British, Dutch and Belgian cyclists will be the most numerous. If there are two names that stand out above the rest of the participants, they are Iván Raña and Karl Markt. The former world and European triathlon champion was already present in the 2022 edition and will compete once again. For his part, the Austrian Markt is also repeating his participation. Not surprisingly, Markt was proclaimed champion of the Race event last year and will try to defend his title.

The participants will face the first stage on Saturday, January 28, starting and ending at the Club La Santa facilities after a 44-kilometer route. The cyclists will pass through the countryside surrounding the towns of Tinajo and Tao. The stage on Sunday 29 increases the difficulty and will force the participants to undergo 57 kilometers of effort through the Fire Mountains of Lanzarote. Most of the route is single track.

The third stage, which will be held on Monday 30, will be a time trial that will start in Caleta de Famara. The bikers will have to pedal for the 21 kilometers uphill to Las Nieves, encountering a slope of more than 500 meters. To culminate this edition of the Club La Santa 4 Stage, the queen stage could not be missed. On Tuesday 31st, “La Presa Contrarreloj” will take place, in which 82 kilometers and a slope of more than 1,600 meters will be the last obstacle for those who want to take the victory.
