The interest of Canarian consumers in organic products continues to increase. The Canarian supermarket chain HiperDino, the most widespread in the archipelago, recorded a 13% increase in its sales of this type of product during 2022.
The sale of organic products during the past year meant a turnover for the Canary Islands supermarket chain of 15 million euros.
The Purchasing Coordinator of HiperDino, Alejandro Millán, states that "for 2023 our forecast is to continue growing both in sales and distribution, reaching more points and offering an increasingly wide and diverse offer." He adds that "we are working to include new vegetable alternatives to animal proteins and reducing the presence of plastics in packaging."
At the moment, the chain has more than 1,200 references of organic products of all categories in 174 stores of the company, of which 56 are HiperDino establishments; 76, SuperDino, and 42, HiperDino Express, in addition to its online channel.
