The Aqua & Sports Center Lanzarote, new sports center located in the facilities attached to the Arenas Internacional School of Costa Teguise, has already opened its doors to the Lanzarote society after the official inauguration held this Monday, March 13.
The President of the Cabildo of Lanzarote Pedro San Ginés, the Mayor of the Villa de Teguise Oswaldo Betancort, the General Director of the Arenas School, Arenas Atlántico and Arenas Internacional Alberto Rodríguez, the CEO of the Arenas Internacional School Bernardo Rodríguez and the Managing Director of the Sports Complex Jaime Rodríguez, among others, attended the event.
The building is the work of the Canarian architect Daniel Padrón, and both its design and the materials used are in line with the environment and architecture of the place, and inspired by the legacy of the Lanzarote artist César Manrique, something that Oswaldo Betancort praised during his speech. Likewise, the Mayor of Teguise expressed his gratitude to the Rodríguez family, especially to Bernardo Rodríguez, for the investment made in Costa Teguise, giving a boost to the municipality, not only with the Aqua Sports Center but also with the upcoming works of Toca Sports, "which represents an investment for the municipality of about three million euros".
For his part, Alberto Rodríguez, after thanking the presence of authorities and guests, announced his satisfaction for being included again among the 100 best public and private schools in Spain according to the Ranking of the newspaper El Mundo. He also recalled that in the coming months the internationalization process of the Arenas School will be completed with the authorization visit of the International Baccalaureate for the implementation of the Primary School Program (PEP).
Jaime Rodríguez recalled the characteristics of the Aqua & Sports Center "more than 2,000 square meters of surface that house a Covered Pavilion, a heated pool, the first Personal Training room on the Island, several multipurpose rooms, an artificial turf soccer field 5x5, paddle tennis courts..., etc., which have involved an investment of more than two million euros". A center, he added, "of directed activities, very designed to respond to the needs of customers, with top-level professionals, focused mainly on Health, aquatic activities and personal training". He also announced the upcoming construction of the first phase of Toca Sports, which will also contribute to giving quality to the sports offer of the municipality.
The closing of the event was in charge of the President of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Pedro San Ginés, who congratulated the Rodríguez family for the initiative, for the investment and for contributing with these services to improve the quality of life of the residents.
The Sports Center has a wide range of activities aimed at both students and families of the Arenas Internacional School, as well as the entire Lanzarote society that wishes to "Take Care a Lot" in state-of-the-art facilities where the needs of each individual and their objectives are taken into account, always with health as the goal.
