Once again, CICAR reaffirms its commitment to peninsular tourism by attending the International Tourism Fair of Catalonia, which is held at the fairgrounds (Fira) of Barcelona this weekend. The company's delegation is headed by its commercial director, Ramón Valiente.
The tourism fair of Catalonia responds to the main motivation of today's tourist: to experience sensations on their trip. CICAR joined this trend in 2015, when the Lanzarote company made almost a hundred replicas of the vehicle painted by César Manrique in 1987, which have been incorporated into its fleet of rental cars on the seven Canary Islands.
In this case, the experience consists of being able to tour the Canary Islands aboard one of these exclusive cars, with the addition that the entire fleet of the group offers a free audio-guide service to its customers in several languages. This service, incorporated into the vehicle, allows you to listen to the most outstanding aspects of each of the islands of the Archipelago while driving. As you travel around an island, the user can choose the track they want to listen to, in accordance with the landscape or the place in front of them.
Like the rest of the country, the Canary Islands are going through a good tourism situation. Lanzarote, the island from which the Cabrera Medina business group originates, closed 2016 with almost three million visitors, while the Canary Archipelago as a whole registered some 14 million tourists. The rent a car segment also grows hand in hand with tourism, to the point that the sector will progress more in coastal areas and island destinations. And this is because travelers are increasingly opting for the comfort and freedom that a rental car offers compared to other mobility options.
CICAR is a car rental company without a driver belonging to the Cabrera Medina Group, created in 1967. With 50 years of life, the Group maintains its family structure, offers services throughout the Canary Islands and is present in all airport ports, tourist areas and strategic points of the Canary Archipelago. It has some 9,000 rental vehicles, is a leader in its sector in the Islands, has more than 80 points of sale for both rent a car and vehicle sales, and directly employs 1,200 people. Its logo is a creation of the Lanzarote artist César Manrique.
Throughout its trajectory, the Cabrera Medina Business Group has been recognized with numerous awards and distinctions, among which the Gold Medal of the Canary Islands in 2014 stands out. This decoration is awarded by the autonomous Government in recognition of individuals or legal entities that carry out, both in the Canary Islands and abroad, their daily work or their existence for the benefit of Canarian society.
