Álex Huertas, recognized by ‘Forbes’ as one of the most influential European entrepreneurs under 30, joins as a partner of the sports clothing brand Fitness & Yoga Akara Social, created in Lanzarote by Wilfredo Monsuy.
Huertas is the co-founder of the successful sunglasses brand Northweek, acquired by Hawkers in 2016, and also the founder of the training program "From 0 to 1 million". Now, he has joined the Akara brand project as a partner, advisor and member of the management board.
The purpose of the Akara brand, according to the company, is to "provide medical assistance to children by allocating 5% of its profits to child and youth health in Africa to eradicate the lack of medical assistance." Akara means "to care" in the Fang language of Equatorial Guinea. It is a brand inspired by the life story of its founder, due to the lack of medical assistance when he was only 11 years old.
His project has been a highlighted mention of the Lanzarotemprende 2021 Award, in addition to being selected to be part of the Semillas de Talento project acceleration Program of the Cabildo de Lanzarote and the Chamber of Commerce of Lanzarote and La Graciosa.
