The Government of the Canary Islands, at the proposal of the Ministry of Universities, Science, Innovation and Culture, has approved a new program to improve the management of scholarships and aid to university students. This action will allow the strengthening of the human resources of the General Directorate of Universities and Research and the implementation of a more advanced computer tool that optimizes procedures.
The program contemplates the temporary incorporation of five people, with a global investment of 600,986.10 euros. This will facilitate a more agile and efficient processing, aimed at ensuring that aid arrives in a timely manner, while modernizing and improving the management system.
The Minister of Universities, Science, Innovation and Culture, Migdalia Machín, has pointed out that "attending to the demands of students is part of the public commitment we assume from this Ministry. With this program we take a necessary step to improve access to aid and consolidate an increasingly efficient and accessible system."
This action is part of the Canary Islands Government's roadmap to strengthen the public higher education system, incorporating structural improvements that allow for a more effective response to the real needs of students. The modernization of processes, together with the strengthening of the technical team, will contribute to offering a more agile and close management, adapted to the insular reality of the Canary Islands.
