The Canary Islands closed on Monday with a new positive case of coronavirus, which raises the total figure to 2,387, and without deaths, so they remain at 162, according to the balance of data updated by the Ministry of Health at 8:00 p.m.

The archipelago now has 80 people sick with Covid-19, 68 in their homes, 11 in hospitals and one in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and there are already 2,145 discharges after the 11 ordered this Monday.

By islands, and following the item of the residence of the case, the one with the most accumulated positives is Tenerife, which has 1,499 cases; followed by Gran Canaria with 601 cases; La Palma, 106 cases; Lanzarote, 88 cases; Fuerteventura, 46 cases; La Gomera, 8 cases and El Hierro, 3 cases.

In addition, there are 40 people who have been diagnosed and treated and are registered by area of declaration (the island in which the test has been analyzed) but it has not been possible to identify their area of residence because they may be tourists, port area workers or people without accommodation.

The deceased by islands are distributed as follows: 110 deceased in Tenerife; 7 in La Palma; 0 in La Gomera; 0 in El Hierro; 39 in Gran Canaria; 6 in Lanzarote and 0 in Fuerteventura.

In this new scenario of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Ministry of Health, adapting to the new protocol of the Ministry of Health, reports that as of 8:00 p.m. this Sunday, SCS professionals, in their tracking work, have detected a total of 78 suspected cases in the Canary Islands.
