The Canary Islands registered six new positive cases for coronavirus this Wednesday, specifically six migrants who arrived in recent days in Fuerteventura by boat --there are already 31 infected in total--, confirmed the president of the Cabildo, Blas Acosta, and sources from the Ministry of Health of the regional government.
In the updated data balance at 8:00 p.m. and in comparison with this Tuesday, the islands accumulate a total of 2,428 cases and registered nine discharges, in such a way that in the archipelago there are already 2,188 people cured.
In total, the Canary Islands now have 78 active cases, of which 73 are isolated in their homes, three remain hospitalized and two occupy beds in Intensive Care Units (ICU), both on the island of Tenerife, and the deceased continue at 162, with which the archipelago has had 11 consecutive days without deaths.
By islands, Tenerife collects 1,503 accumulated cases, followed by Gran Canaria (604), La Palma (107), Lanzarote (88), Fuerteventura (77), La Gomera (8) and El Hierro (3) while the incidence by age affects more the group of 40-49 years, with 427 cases, and mortality to octogenarians, with 76 deaths.
