Health analyzes the increase in cases

Health analyzes the increase in cases that has been registered in recent days, and that this Wednesday exceeds 1,000. According to the Government of the Canary Islands, this responds to the greater mobility and socialization that has been taking place since the beginning of December, following an ascending and continuous evolution in the last week, whose trend is being analyzed by Public Health. A pattern of increase that is also observed in other autonomous communities since the greater number of positives each day generates an increase in tracking, so the detection of new cases is also accumulating.

The epidemiologists of the General Directorate of Public Health are analyzing the trend and variability of the behavior of the transmission of the coronavirus, since the diagnostic capacity has doubled in the last week.

In this sense, they assure that the health system is having diagnostic capacity so that it has been possible to detect the new cases with the realization of an average of 7,570 daily PCRs, on Tuesday more than 10,000. In this sense, Public Health analyzes recent outbreaks resulting from social and family gatherings that are increasing in the number of cases. In recent weeks, although a number of outbreaks similar to this week had been recorded, they contained fewer associated cases.

An example is reflected in the record of last week with only two outbreaks with more than 10 associated cases while this week there are already 8 outbreaks with more than 13 cases linked to each of them.
