Canary Islands registers another death and 136 new positive cases of Covid in the last day

The number of hospitalized rises to 128, of which 20 are in the ICU

Lanzarote registers 30 new positives and has 265 active cases

The Canary Islands have registered a new death linked to the coronavirus in the last day, bringing the number of deaths in the islands to 168 since the beginning of the pandemic. In addition, 136 new positives have been detected in these 24 hours, bringing the number of active cases to 2,264.

The number of hospitalized has also increased by eleven people compared to Sunday, from 117 to 128. Of the people admitted, 108 are on the ward and 20 in intensive care units (two more than the previous day).

By islands, the number of cases has grown the most in Gran Canaria, which already has 2,277, of which 1,516 are currently active. Thus, 89 of the 136 new diagnoses in the Canary Islands correspond to this island.
