Canary Islands adds 140 new positives and one death from covid

The Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands reports 140 new cases of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, which represents an accumulated of 15,175 and 6,950 epidemiologically active cases, of which 57 are admitted to the ICU and 226 are hospitalized on the floor. In addition, in the last 24 hours there has been one death of a 96-year-old woman in Tenerife.

By islands, Gran Canaria has 8,080 accumulated cases, 43 new cases and 3,881 active cases; Tenerife has 4,919 4,831 accumulated cases, 88 new cases and 2,876 active; Lanzarote has 1,153 accumulated cases, 9 new cases and 98 active; Fuerteventura remains at 710 accumulated cases, without new cases and 67 active; La Gomera remains with 78 accumulated, with no new cases and its active cases are at 23. La Palma, with 185 accumulated cases and two active cases, has no new cases and El Hierro counts 49 accumulated and two active cases, without registering new cases. Until this Sunday, a total of 412,512 PCR tests have been carried out on the islands, of which 3,039 were done this Saturday.

The Ministry of Health recalls the importance of maintaining security measures during this bridge where family and festive gatherings can be encouraged, which is precisely where most of the new outbreaks of COVID-19 are occurring. It is insisted that in those environments the use of a mask, the maintenance of physical distance and hand washing is essential.
