The President of the Parliament of the Canary Islands, Astrid Pérez, continues her round of contacts with the bodies attached to the Canary Chamber. To that end, she held a meeting with the Commissioner for Transparency and Access to Public Information, Noelia García Leal, who presented the main lines of action and needs of her department for the year 2026.
The commissioner, accompanied by the Head of the Transparency Evaluation and Control Service, Miguel Ángel Herrero, explained that the budget planned for next year amounts to 1,379,275 euros, which represents 0.61 euros per inhabitant per year. She also raised the convenience of reinforcing the staff, as well as the possibility of initiating the procedures for the acquisition of a property that would grant greater stability and operational capacity to the institution.
During the meeting, García Leal stressed that "the consolidation of human and material resources is essential to guarantee an efficient service adapted to the growing demand for public information in the Canary Islands."
For her part, the President of the Parliament, Astrid Pérez, stressed the importance of these prior meetings with the bodies attached to the Parliament, which she described as "fundamental to have a more complete vision of the needs of the bodies attached to the Chamber, which can raise their priorities and detail the proposal of annual accounts that will be addressed in the Bureau of the Parliament."
