Alert declared for coastal phenomena for the weekend in the Canary Islands

The Government of the Canary Islands takes this decision due to the bad sea conditions and the expectation of waves between 4 and 5.5 meters, mainly on Sunday

The General Directorate of Emergencies of the Government of the Canary Islands has declared the alert for coastal phenomena adverse due to bad sea conditions throughout the Archipelago, where waves of between four and 5.5 meters are expected, mainly on Sunday.

The alert will come into effect from 8:00 p.m. this Friday and, as explained by the General Directorate of Emergencies, there is expected swell from the north and northwest and combined waves that will probably reach and exceed four and 5.5 meters, although the largest waves are expected on Sunday.

According to Emergencies information, high tides on Saturday will occur from 4:55 a.m. to 5:35 a.m. and from 5:47 p.m. to 6:25 p.m. While those on Sunday will take place from 6:16 a.m. to 6:53 a.m. and from 7:34 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. For Monday, they will take place from 7:51 a.m. to 8:22 a.m. and from 8:55 p.m. to 9:20 p.m., Emergencies have announced.

In addition, the State Meteorological Agency has issued a yellow warning for coastal phenomena during the weekend from this Friday, November 3rd.
