UD Lanzarote achieved a valuable victory against a tough CD El Cotillo. The match was not very attractive and lacked rhythm. CD El Cotillo appeared at the Lanzarote Sports City with very clear ideas, the coach from Majorera planned a defensive match and tried to surprise the Rojillo team on the counterattack, but he did not achieve his purpose.
In the 17th minute, Miguel Gómez shoots but his shot goes high, the Rojillo team could not find gaps in these first minutes and their game was not as good as in previous weeks.
In the 20th minute, Rosmen controls a ball inside the area, passes back for Gastón to arrive and his shot is met with a magnificent save by goalkeeper Julio. In the 23rd minute, the same protagonists, Gastón shoots and Julio deflects for a corner.
UD Lanzarote kept trying but without luck and practically without ideas, in the 36th minute, Castaño tried from outside the area but his shot was again stopped by Julio. The goalkeeper from Majorera was the best player of the team and managed to keep the goal at zero in the first 45 minutes.
The second half began with a chance in the 50th minute, Gastón shoots into Julio's hands. A minute later, a long throw-in to Dani's area is finished by Javi Betancort and Borja deflects for a corner, CD El Cotillo's response came after a corner kick that Juanjo finished inside the area, hitting the ball against a defender, Juanjo finished the rebound again wide.
UD Lanzarote dominated the match against a rival that entrenched themselves in their own half trying to get a point at the Lanzarote Sports City. In the 63rd minute, Miguel Gómez shoots from outside the area against the post, only bad luck allowed CD El Cotillo to keep a clean sheet.
In football it is said that the pitcher goes so often to the well that it breaks in the end. In the 78th minute, a cross from the left wing is headed by Ayoze Pérez at the far post, into the back of the net of goalkeeper Julio. (1-0). In the 83rd minute, Javi Melián could have sealed the match, but again goalkeeper Julio prevented the Rojillo goal.
UD Lanzarote gets the 3 points and maintains a streak of 8 wins and a draw that brings them one and a half feet into the promotion playoffs to Segunda B.
