Sara de León, despite her young age, has made a place for herself in the first team of CB Zonzamas. She has gone through several of the lower categories of the Spanish Handball Team and now she has the opportunity to play actively in the Women's Silver Division of Honor, which is a further step in the sporting career of the player from San Bartolomé.
Last Saturday, with ten goals, she helped her team achieve their first victory of the season against Palencia Turismo. Sara de León values the second day's match as "a very hard-fought match", adding that "at the beginning we were nervous, but as time went by we got better and I think we played a good match".
The advantage that CB Zonzamas had acquired at half-time and after what happened last week in Gijón made the players cautious, as coach Casimiro Tejera recommended in the dressing room. "We had to play more calmly", confesses the Lanzarote player. "In Gijón we played very fast, losing many balls for not playing with a little more calm and the mistakes of last week should not be repeated to get the victory", explained Sara de León at the conclusion of the match against Palencia Turismo.
The youth player of CB Zonzamas had words of gratitude for the large audience that gathered at the Municipal Pavilion of Las Palmeras, with nearly 200 spectators attending the first match of the batatero team as local. "It's nice to see the pavilion like this, the atmosphere has been good and I would like people to continue coming to San Bartolomé to help win the matches as they did today", commented the Zonzamas player.
The next match of CB Zonzamas as local will be on Sunday, October 12, starting at 12:00 hours, receiving the visit of Camargo Ferroatlántica, match corresponding to the third day of the Women's Silver Division of Honor.
