CB Lanzarote Puerto del Carmen has chained three consecutive victories after the good result obtained this Saturday in the Municipal de Tías against one of the top teams in the category, Dany Sport Balonmano Caima (33-26), in a match corresponding to the ninth day of the Canarian Women's Territorial League.

The match started somewhat flustered for both squads with an expulsion per team in the first two minutes of play. The players from Fuerteventura were more successful at the start while the locals adapted their game to the pretensions of the "new" coach, Miguel Ángel Lemes. As the minutes passed, Caima showed greater regularity and distanced themselves on the scoreboard (4-8, min. 14).

Puerto advanced the defense in search of greater options, but the ball handling in attack was not the most beneficial. In addition, the goalkeeper from Fuerteventura was very successful under the posts. Lemes insisted on his tactics and the substantial improvement of the Tías defense provoked the first timeout from Fuerteventura (6-9, min.19:16).

The locals seemed to wake up completely, but the visitors held on until Lemes' first timeout (10-12, min. 23). The patience of the Tías coach began to pay off and, gradually, his tactics took their toll on the visitors. A shot on the buzzer by Nayra Gil left the game tied at fourteen for the break.

The second half started with a steal and counterattack by Nayara De León that put the Tías team ahead (15-14) after many minutes behind on the scoreboard. Essence of Tías. Carla De Marco also appeared, but the Caima players were not giving up yet (19-17, min. 6). Lemes continued to move the bench looking for fuel for the final minutes and with several tests. He asked for a timeout with a tie at nineteen with seventeen minutes of play remaining.

After the break, Puerto started again with very high pressure and Caima choked, provoking the timeout from Fuerteventura (22-19, min. 15).

Only the post and the goalkeeper from Fuerteventura prevented the locals from finishing the match (27-22, min. 23:38). Caima had many doubts while the Tías team began to look like a well-oiled machine (28-22, min.25). The effectiveness of Miguel Ángel Lemes' tactics was going to cause the last five minutes to only serve to confirm the Tías victory.

Nayra Gil became the top scorer of the match, very well supplied by her teammates, with ten goals. Carla de Marco added another nine in a second half to frame. In the ranks of Fuerteventura, the seven goals of two players, Bianca Amalia Román and Haridian Rodríguez, stood out.

After this defeat, Caima is placed third, tied with the second, Morro Jable, both with thirteen points. C.B. Puerto del Carmen moves up to fifth place with eight points after three consecutive victories.

The Tías Territorial team returns to the competition next Saturday, February 8, at 12:00 noon, in the Municipal Pavilion of Tías, against another of the top teams in the competition, the second classified, Bm. Morro Jable V.C. and can be followed live on the YouTube channel of the Tías team.
