The first edition of the Raid Fuerteventura Extrema 4x4 has been a success, with the participation of a dozen teams, who tested the resistance of the vehicles they had. The island of Lanzarote was represented with the participation of the "Mojo Picón" team, whose members could not finish due to a mechanical breakdown.
Over four days and three nights, the first edition of the Raid Fuerteventura Extrema 4x4 was held, in which both men and machines were tested, on a route that ran through the ravines of the island. The participating teams had to overcome extremely rugged terrain, having to overcome rocks of considerable size and in desert-like conditions typical of the Sahara.
The "Mojo Picón" team, made up of Dani Mesa and Ángel Tolosa, participated in the I Raid Fuerteventura Extrema 4x4. A mechanical breakdown prevented them from competing at the highest level in the four stages set up by the organization. They managed to repair the damage to the vehicle, concluding the competition in a more than meritorious seventh place.
The Lanzarote co-driver Juan Antonio was also present in this competition on board the "Fuertetrail" team. The Fuertetrail Land Rover was able to complete the Raid Fuerteventura Extrema 4x4 thanks to the help provided by the "Mojo Picón" team, leaving them some spare parts to finish the race.
The participating teams had to overcome six multi-zones along the route, with specific tests in each of them. The final victory went to the "Imdicasa Castrol" team composed of Gregorio Rodríguez and David Llano aboard a Land Rover Defender. While the participants faced a completely new challenge for them, family members and companions enjoyed the incomparable environment of the island of Fuerteventura.
