José Manuel Galán and Baudilio Rodríguez broke the record for the Barcelona - Mallorca nautical crossing

The Canarias - Lanzarote team managed to win in the Bravo class for boats with a length of up to 8 meters. The pilot José Manuel Galán, once again showed his adventurous spirit, as well as his undoubted experience and skill in this type of event. Baudilio Rodríguez and Sonja Arup completed the team, doing a good job of strategy, and especially achieving the best courses to achieve the final triumph. After an important effort, the prize came in the form of a record with a time of 2 hours and 49 minutes for a journey of 118 miles, the previous record was 10 minutes more.

The Cetelem Trophy "2nd Dragonera Raid" valid as the Spanish Championship of semi-rigid boats of great lengths, has been the stellar event of the summer for fans and professionals of this type of hulls. Around 50 participating teams had arrived from all over the national geography, including three Canary teams.

It is necessary to emphasize the participation of a prototype that captivated the gaze of all the fans, a model constructed in Italy especially for this event of the Mediterranean. Such was the performance of the boat, that it managed to make the journey of 118 miles in only 1 hour and 59 minutes, reaching peak speeds of 72 knots per hour.

The Canarias - Lanzarote team, managed to bring six trophies, highlighting the 1st overall in the Bravo class and, the record of the crossing in its class.

The participation of the team led by José Manuel Galán, was possible thanks to the collaboration of the Ministry of Tourism of the Government of the Canary Islands, Tourist Board of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, Náuticas Alegranza, Felycar, Exmon and Conquilan.
