The Governing Council of the Cabildo of Lanzarote has approved the initiation of the file for the contracting of the adapted vehicle transport service for users of public places in the day centers for disability and elderly care on the island of Lanzarote with a maximum total amount of 5,205,816.42 euros, excluding IGIC, and a period of three years, with the possibility of establishing an extension of two more.
The contract is structured around two lots. The first of these, intended for people with disabilities, provides for the management of the adapted vehicle transport service for a total of 120 users of the Need for a Third Person day care centers (50 places), intellectual disability day care (65 places) and mental disorder day care (5 places). It has a maximum budget of 2,715,157.82 euros.
The second lot, intended for dependent people, has a budget of 2,490,658.60 euros, and offers a total of 65 places for the Las Cabreras day centers for the elderly (50 places) and San Roque (15 places).
The president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, María Dolores Corujo, highlights that "this tender responds to the need to provide the necessary means and resources to the most vulnerable and punished groups by the pandemic with the aim of promoting comprehensive development for people within the framework of equality." In this sense, she points out "the importance of having a quality, safe and comfortable transport service for the users of the Cabildo de Lanzarote's care centers and, by extension, for their families."
For her part, the Minister of Social Welfare of the First Island Institution, Isabel Martín Tenorio, considers "essential an initiative that represents an added value to the work provided by the centers because the transfer of the user from and to their home in a medium completely adapted to their motor and cognitive reality is synonymous with full security and comfort guarantee."
