Agents of the Scientific Unit of the National Police went to the Arrecife City Council this Thursday. Apparently, the police went to look for fingerprints in the Secretariat, almost two months after the former municipal secretary, Asenet Padrón, reported that her locker had been forced open between December 30 and January 2. This alleged theft of documents coincided in time with an investigation opened by the Prosecutor's Office for alleged irregular invoices and contracts in the Consistory between 2008 and 2011.
Municipal sources have confirmed to La Voz that the agents entered the Consistory on Thursday morning and went directly to the Secretariat. There, they focused on looking for fingerprints, especially near the security camera.
And it is that the day the municipal secretary's locker was forced, as she herself reported, the security cameras "went off." "The mechanism was manipulated, because the camera was off for a few hours," municipal sources have indicated.
The scientific police took the hard drive from the Consistory to analyze the images and find out who could have entered Asenet Padrón's office, who after reporting these events was dismissed by the mayor, Cándido Reguera, who alleged "lack of diligence" in her work to remove her from her position.
