The PSOE of Lanzarote celebrates the "successful completion" of the public employment stabilization process carried out by the Cabildo of Lanzarote. This process, initiated in early 2022 during the presidency of María Dolores Corujo, culminates with the appointment of 124 new civil servants, thus fulfilling the objective of reducing temporary employment in the public sector on the island.
The councilor of the Socialist Group and head of the Human Resources area in the development of this file, Isabel Martín, has highlighted the importance of this achievement in the consolidation of stable and quality public employment in Lanzarote. "The culmination of the process with the appointment of the new civil servants on August 1, 2024, in compliance with the established deadline, is a significant step in improving the island's public administration, guaranteeing job stability and improving service to citizens," said Martín, who congratulated all the workers who have benefited from this measure.
The initiative began with the preparation of a list of positions to be stabilized, which was presented at the General Negotiation Table. After several technical meetings and with representatives of the workers, the Island Government Council approved, on May 17, 2022, the General Criteria for the execution of the Extraordinary Stabilization Offers, which were subsequently adjusted on September 26, 2022.
The process continued with the approval of the Extraordinary Public Employment Offer 2022, relating to the additional rate of stabilization of temporary public employment, in accordance with Law 20/2021, of December 28. This offer was published in the Official Gazette of the province of Las Palmas on May 27, 2022, marking the formal start of the stabilization process.
A series of agreements and modifications, including the adaptation of the Cabildo's Organic Staff, were approved throughout the year. Noteworthy is the agreement of the Island Government Council of December 15, 2022 to adjust the Extraordinary Public Employment Offer and the announcement in the Official Gazette of the Province of Las Palmas on November 30, 2022, which established the General Bases for the selective processes.
On December 19, 2022, the selective process was announced to fill various vacant positions. The admission period for applicants opened on March 31, 2023, with the list of admitted applicants being published on August 2, 2023. Between October 2023 and April 2024, the Qualifying Tribunals carried out the corresponding evaluations, proposing the selected candidates.
