Ciudadanos (Cs) has presented this Monday a motion, which will be debated in the next municipal plenary session, to urge the Arrecife City Council to "create a specific line of aid for the rehabilitation of facades of buildings and commercial premises".
In this regard, the Cs councillor in the Arrecife City Council, Víctor Duque, has warned about "the image of degradation and deterioration that residents and tourists who pass through the capital of Lanzarote are taking away".
In this sense, he has advocated "the adaptation of buildings, among other actions, as a fundamental piece to beautify the city". To this end, he stressed "the need to carry out an urban regeneration, with the repair of the facades of both residential and listed buildings", and for this, he pointed out that "the collaboration of the local institution is essential".
For all these reasons, Ciudadanos has asked the Arrecife City Council to "accept this request and help residents to rehabilitate their facades", because "not only will it contribute to aesthetically improving the capital", but it will also "reduce the deterioration of the facades, which will mean a longer useful life of the building".
