The political formation Contigo Teguise + Unido has denounced the explanations of the candidate of the Canarian Coalition to the Mayoralty of Teguise, Olivia Duque, and the current Mayor, Oswaldo Betancort, about the possible "plug" in the Town Hall of the number two of the nationalist party María del Mar Boronat.

According to Contigo Teguise + Unido, the Official Bulletin announces that the hiring of Boronat "is linked to the Municipal Technical Office, it is true that both presume, in the media, that she knows nothing about public institutions and that she was hired for 41,000 euros so that, literally, she learns, paid with money from the residents of Teguise", the party said in a statement.

Therefore, the purpose of the hiring, which is as "coordinator of the Technical Office" is nothing more than an excuse for the number two of the Canarian Coalition in Teguise to have a great salary during this campaign without anyone understanding why and what for. While the municipal licenses remain stagnant, to the despair of the citizens of Teguise", the party states.

In addition, the councilor of the Canarian Coalition uses the hiring as an electoral element of her campaign, stating that it is "fundamental" for her political future, in such a way that "when she governs, without even knowing what the result emanating from the polls is, she will be better prepared. Therefore, she uses the Town Hall and its public funds as an element to improve her electoral list, facing the voters", the formation insists.

In this sense, it points out that "as if that were not enough, the absurdity of the use of a contract of 41,000 euros, does not clarify in anything what she is going to do in the days to come in the middle of an electoral campaign. It should be remembered that she was hired on March 30, two days after the elections were called, with what that implies in terms of movement of public funds".

From Contigo Teguise + Unido "we are studying all the edges of this hiring in the middle of an electoral campaign where it is clearly seen that the public coffers of Teguise are being used again for the benefit of the Canarian Coalition, despising the true needs of the municipality and of the citizens who demand qualified people in key areas of the town hall, "far from reinforcing the technical office, it has been preferred to feed those who are plugged in six weeks before the elections, constituting a clear fraud to the purpose that appears in the contract, and to the spirit of a healthy democracy".
