Coalición Canaria and the Municipal Platform of Haría of José Torres Stinga have confirmed this Tuesday that they intend to share the Mayor's Office of the municipality for the remainder of the term, based on the motion of censure that they registered this Monday in the City Council and that will be voted on in a Plenary Session that has already been called for next November 23. In a joint press conference, both parties have explained that their intention is to make the CC councilor Chaxiraxi Niz mayor, but only for a year and a half.

Specifically, they have pointed until June 2022, which is when they plan to make a change again and the Mayor's Office will pass to the PMH, during the remaining year. However, they have not specified if it will be the head of the list of this party, José Torres Stinga, who will hold it. "When 2022 arrives, we will propose the corresponding person and, in the same way that it has been agreed now, it will also be agreed", Torres Stinga has limited himself to point out in this regard.

Nor has it been revealed at the press conference what areas of government each formation intends to hold. "Obviously, when a pact is negotiated, these types of things are negotiated, taking into account that we are five councilors and they are three. These are issues that are debated, but when the time comes, we will see", pointed out the island secretary of CC, Migdalia Machín, who nevertheless did point out that it will be CC who will carry the "weight" of the City Council, always "respecting" the three councilors of the PMH.

Awaiting legal reports on the Cave

It should be remembered that Torres Stinga was mayor of Haría for years for Coalición Canaria, until he was removed from the party in the middle of the conflict he had with his then partner, Pedro San Ginés. His confrontation over the Cueva de Los Verdes, which ended in the Courts in a lawsuit won by the City Council, was the reason that precipitated that rupture, although now it has also been the issue that has brought them together again, despite the fact that in theory they maintain antagonistic positions. In fact, CC justified its break with the PSOE for the approval of an addendum to the agreement signed in its day by San Ginés, whose validity they continue to defend, despite the forceful municipal reports. For his part, Torres assures that what he claims is that neither the initial agreement nor the addendum should be applied, and that Haría should fully execute the sentence and "take possession" of La Cueva.

"We have talked a lot about this issue and to say otherwise would be not telling the truth," said the island secretary of CC, Migdalia Machín, after being asked if they have reached any agreement on the Cave and if they intend to reverse the addendum approved by the plenary of Haría.

In this regard, both she and Torres Stinga have stated that they await legal reports to make a decision. "Until the legal services of one institution and another do not manifest themselves, our position, as a party, is not yet fixed," said the island secretary of CC, Migdalia Machín, despite the fact that the addendum to the Cave agreement already has favorable reports from both the Cabildo and the City Council of Haría.

"We are going to do what the legal services tell us, from the two political formations, and logically from the City Council," said Torres Stinga, stating that his party has requested "additional information" to see "if there are possibilities or there are none" to reverse the situation.

In addition to Migdalia Machín and José Torres Stinga, who have given the press conference, the other two councilors of the PMH, Evelia García and Manuel Fernando Fontes, have attended. However, none of the CC councilors in the northern municipality have attended.

Among the public there was a former CC councilor in Haría, Christian Avero, as well as the local secretaries of San Bartolomé and Yaiza, Isabel Corujo and Mateo Ramón, respectively. In the room was also the former councilor of Arrecife and former senator of the PP for Lanzarote, Joel Delgado, who now works for CC in tasks related to communication. "It is the company in which I work that works for Coalición Canaria, and I was sent there as I could have been sent to any other client," Delgado told La Voz to justify his presence at this event, which has generated discomfort in the ranks of the Popular Party. Specifically, this company is dedicated to digital marketing and social networks, which are the services it is providing to CC.
