Tías experienced its big day this Friday on the occasion of the festival of Our Lady of La Candelaria. Numerous neighbors and authorities accompanied their patron saint in the mass and subsequent procession through the streets of the interior of the town, next to the church and the Plaza de La Candelaria.
In addition to the neighbors, numerous island authorities were also present, such as the mayor of Tías, José Juan Cruzz Saavedra, among other members of the municipal government group, as well as other public officials from the island such as the president of the Cabildo, Oswaldo Betancort, the mayor of Haría, Alfredo Villalba, the national deputy, María Dolores Corujo, among others.
The procession of the Virgen de la Candelaria was also accompanied by the Unión Musical de Lanzarote band and a performance by Gaida.
In the afternoon, the festival program will continue with the basketball tournament in the pavilion and at 8:00 p.m. in the Municipal Theater the play A Spring Night Without Sleep will be performed by the Lila García theater group. The night will end with concerts by Inerxia and Treintaytantos in the Plaza de La Candelaria.
