For the second year in a row, the Cabildo inaugurated its Nativity Scene this Monday, installed on the esplanade where the first institution is located. A work with a great reflection of Canarian identity by the Lanzarote designer Luis Acuña, who has taken maximum care of even the smallest detail.
The act included welcome speeches by the councilors of Tourism Promotion and the Biosphere Reserve, Ángel Vázquez and Rafael Juan González, respectively, with the presence of the president of the Cabildo, Pedro San Ginés, and other members of the Corporation.
Visitors can contemplate in their tour some representative architectural buildings of the seven municipalities that make up the island of Lanzarote, where the rofe is also very present, highlighting its black and red colors, with very well-traced paths marked by whitewashed stones with white lime, a sign of identity of the ancient settlers of Lanzarote.
Another of the attractions offered by the Nativity Scene are its moving figures that powerfully attract the attention of children and adults, all with very successful lighting so that the visitor can see the Nativity Scene at any time of the day or night. A Nativity Scene that is also crowned by a gigantic Christmas tree 18 meters high, illuminated by 55,000 LED lights.
The inauguration ceremony was enlivened by Jameos Quartet, with Christmas instrumental music. The attending public was also able to taste some delicious trout made with sweet potatoes and angel hair, all washed down with liquors typical of these holidays.
