The Lanzarote-based batucada Menuda Caña headed to Tenerife on February 24 to perform at the Santa Cruz Carnival. That same night they played on the main stage, in the Plaza de Candelaria, opening the night and warming up for the verbena that was expected after the performance.
The following morning, the Batucada Menuda Caña had the honor of participating in the Tenerife Day Carnival, which welcomed more than 200,000 people. The batucada toured several of the streets of Santa Cruz, starting at the Plaza de la Candelaria.
According to the group, they received many congratulations for their costumes, which this year are a tribute to Salvador Dalí, bringing his surrealist paintings to the fabrics of the costume, which was designed by Esteban Cedrés.
The Batucada Menuda Caña has been attending the
Day Carnival for two consecutive years. "It is a great opportunity to make yourself known, as well as an unforgettable experience," they say from the group.
