Luis Miranda has become the new president of the Democracy Society of Arrecife after the celebration of the Extraordinary Assembly this past Sunday, April 7th.
In that meeting, Lorenzo Lemaur's resignation was acknowledged and a Management Board was approved, composed of Santiago Torres de la Fe as secretary and the members María Milagros Martín Elvira, Gerardo Rodríguez Barrio, and José María Bra Rey.
The newly appointed Board is created with the aim of generating transparency and being able to save the current situation in which the Society finds itself, in order to assess the situation more quickly and find a Board that takes the reins and development of the same," the members pointed out in the statement.
As will be recalled, the century-old society has been involved in various controversies surrounding the figure of Lorenzo Lemaur, and a few months ago a platform of members asked him to resign and even accused him of lack of transparency in his management and irregularities.
