The work of fishing in Isla de Sal, Cape Verde has already begun. Some tasks that are being developed with "success", says the spokesman for the fishermen of La Santa, Cristóbal Oliveros.
A day that is launched after the various training classes given by some fishermen from La Santa and biologists from the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. A training related to the fishing of the soldier shrimp prawn that is originally from La Santa, but as the spokesman explained in a recent interview on Radio Lanzarote-Onda Cero, "probably the prawn will not be called La Santa but will be given a name of the area".
At the moment, these fishermen are working alone but receive help from the fishermen of La Santa, with whom they remain in contact to continue training in all the doubts that may arise during their beginnings, adds Cristóbal Oliveros.
In addition, the University of Las Palmas is already preparing other diverse projects related to other types of fishing, with the aim of making better use of resources with sustainable fishing gear, concludes the spokesman.
