A cable theft in Costa Teguise leaves part of the promenade without power

The Local Police and the Civil Guard are investigating the theft of copper in the area of ​​the La Mareta Residence and in other streets of the town

The Local Police of Teguise, in collaboration with the Civil Guard, has been investigating for a few days the theft of copper cables that has affected the electrical installations of part of the Cocederos de Costa Teguise avenue. Specifically, according to reports from the City Council, the area of ​​the promenade at the height of the Residencial de La Mareta, as well as Avenida del Mar and Calle Laguna, have been left without electricity.

From the area coordinated by councilor Miguel Ángel Jiménez, they have requested "all possible citizen collaboration in the monitoring that municipal agents are carrying out together with the Civil Guard."

In addition, he explained that they are currently assessing, together with municipal technicians and the company Imesapi, the amount of cable stolen and the economic damage, although it is estimated that approximately 2,000 meters of wiring have been stolen.
