The municipality of Yaiza is launching this summer Yaiza Naturaleza Sonora, a new cultural initiative promoted by the Yaiza City Council and produced by ROFE, which aims to bring live music to natural spaces and towns in the south of Lanzarote.
This is a cycle of free, small-format concerts that seeks to create intimate, peaceful, and deeply respectful musical experiences with the environment. Yaiza Naturaleza Sonora proposes a different way of inhabiting and listening to the territory, claiming the landscape as a living, valuable, and inclusive cultural stage.
The concerts will be held on the second to last weekend of each month, from June to December, in different natural and rural enclaves of the municipality, adapting to the uniqueness of each space. The cycle will kick off with "ExperienCE", the jazz fusion project of Lanzarote saxophonist and keyboardist Cristopher Pérez together with drummer Eloy Mañogil.
Born in 2022, this duo builds its music in real time from loops, hypnotic vamps, and open spaces for improvisation, creating a unique and unrepeatable sound experience in each concert. Their proposal is a musical journey full of energy, exploration, and freedom that perfectly fits with the spirit of the cycle: art, territory, and environmental awareness walking hand in hand.
ROFE, the creative production company behind this initiative, has its roots in this same municipality. Born in 2021 as an innovative project to give space to other ways of doing and understanding culture, it works with multidisciplinary teams to promote sustainable, professionalizing dynamics that are deeply connected with the territory and its identity. Ubai T.
Alemán, creator of ROFE and the mastermind behind this proposal, wanted to emphasize the personal dimension of this project: "This is not only the first project I am launching in my town, Uga. It is also a way to reconcile my work with my roots, to give something back to the place that taught me so much and marked me. For me, it is a small act of love towards my childhood, towards music, towards the land, and towards the people who inhabit it."
Yaiza Naturaleza Sonora invites you to stop, listen, and inhabit the landscape through music. A proposal for those who believe that culture can be made from the small, the close, and the essential.
