Lanzarote's vacation homes achieve the longest stays in the Canary Islands

93.4% of the 8,000 vacation homes available in Lanzarote were booked in September and generated a total of 21 million euros

Among the tourists who rented vacation homes in the Canary Islands in September, those who did so in Lanzarote stayed the most days, with a total of 4.76 days, according to the Canary Islands Institute of Statistics (ISTAC).

The Canary Islands average is 4.32 days and the second island with the longest stays in vacation homes is Tenerife with 4.47 days, followed by Fuerteventura with 4.43 days, La Palma (4.19), Gran Canaria (4), La Gomera (3.52) and El Hierro (3.41).

By Lanzarote municipalities, the average stay ranges from 4.07 days in Tinajo or 4.17 days in Arrecife to 5.13 days in Yaiza or 5.17 days in Tías.

The occupancy of vacation homes in Lanzarote was also very high in September and reached 93.44%, while the Canary Islands average remained at 89.14%. Only vacation homes in El Hierro had a higher percentage of reservations than those in Lanzarote, 95.15%.

Of the 8,000 vacation homes available in Lanzarote, 7,764 were booked, generating a total income of 21.2 million euros.

By municipalities, the 2,428 vacation homes booked in Yaiza jointly generated 8.5 million euros, while in Tías 2,138 were booked and generated 6.1 million euros.

In Teguise, 1,583 vacation homes were booked in September (3.3 million), Haría 598 (1.1 million), Arrecife were 523 (959,000 euros) and San Bartolomé 340 (585,000) euros.
