The Canary Islands has added 191 new cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours, currently accumulating 21,370 cases since the beginning of the pandemic, and has not had to regret any new deaths, leaving the number of deaths at 340.
Thus, of the total cases that the Canary Islands has registered, 4,289 are active, which is 43 more than a day ago, according to the data published by the Canary Islands Ministry of Health after 2:00 p.m.
Currently, of the active cases in the islands, 42 people remain in an Intensive Care Unit (+2), 192 on the hospital floor (-4) and 4,055 are isolated in their homes. Likewise, a total of 16,741 people have been discharged after contracting the coronavirus virus.
Regarding the accumulated incidence, the Canary Islands registers 41.01 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in seven days, while in 14 days it rises to 80.11.
As for the tests, a total of 589,671 tests have been carried out in the Canary Islands so far --3,552 in the last day-- of which 27,118 were positive, which represents 4.6 percent of the total.
By islands
Regarding the cases of coronavirus by islands, Gran Canaria continues to lead in number of cases with 9,485, adding 45 in the last 24 hours, of which 1,141 are active, while 128 people have died and 8,216 have overcome the disease.
It is followed by Tenerife with 9,165 cases registered since the pandemic began (+135), of which 3,013 are active, 192 have died and 5,960 have been discharged.
After it is Lanzarote with 1,408 cases (+1), of which 51 are active, nine have perished and 1,348 people have overcome the disease.
Fuerteventura, on the other hand, remains with an accumulated 912 cases (+8), of which 59 are active, four died and 849 were discharged; La Palma remains with 216 cases (+1), of which seven are active, six died and 203 overcame the disease.
La Gomera closes the list with 115 cases (+1), of which 17 are active, 98 have been discharged and has not had to regret deaths; while El Hierro has 69 cases, of which one is active, in addition to registering one death and 67 discharges.
